Thread whirling and parting come tuned for small parts, so less setup time turns into more spindle time.

Front Max (TFX): single-pass front turning

Multi-pass front turning is safe but slow and leaves seam lines; single-pass is fast but fights chatter, finish, and chip control. Front Max (TFX) is built for the large depth-of-cut single pass — up to 5 mm (.197″) in one pass — with an advanced chipbreaker for chip control, a high rake angle to cut resistance and chatter, a tangential clamp for rigidity, and wiper inserts that protect the nose radius and hold the finish. Offered in DM4 (stainless, reduces built-up edge) and ST4 (versatile, high-temp oxidation resistance).

DS-ACH: dial in center height

In small-diameter turning (ø10 mm and under) center height quietly governs everything — effective rake angle, flank wear, burr formation, even dimensional accuracy. A few hundredths off the centerline changes how the part cuts. The DS-ACH holder replaces guess-and-rotate shank adjustment with a patented high-rigidity wedge mechanism that sets center height precisely and repeatably, so an unattended run stays stable from the first part to the last.

AMX chipbreaker: control at tiny depths

When the depth of cut shrinks to almost nothing, most chipbreakers stop breaking chips — and finish and dimensions start to drift. The AMX is built for exactly that regime: reliable chip control at depths of 0.3 mm and below, with a sharp, low-pressure edge (down to an R0.03 radius) that shears cleanly on the fine, high-precision passes Swiss-type and medical parts depend on.

TMV: wiper finish for vibration cutting

Built for front turning on Swiss CNC lathes running the vibration-cutting (LFV) function, the TMV geometry minimizes cutting resistance and keeps chips forming cleanly even as the tool oscillates. Its added wiper holds a superior surface finish at higher feeds — so you can push feed toward double the rate and tool life, and cut machining time roughly in half, without giving up finish.

NTK650: finish & life on small parts

NTK650 is a PVD-coated carbide grade tuned for small-diameter turning (up to ø20 mm) across steel, stainless, and heat-resistant work (P / M / S). Strong anti-adhesion properties suppress built-up edge and streaking, so surface finish stays consistent and inspection time drops — with NTK case studies showing anywhere from 1.8× to 5× the tool life of the grade it replaced.

Shaper Duo: hex & socket forms, no broach

Hexagon, square, and hexalobular (6-lobe) socket forms usually mean a rotary broach — high tool pressure that shoves small parts off location, plus a dedicated tool per size. Shaper Duo shapes those forms right on the lathe with a solid-carbide, PVD-coated insert in a Stick Duo sleeve holder: low cutting forces that suit small-diameter parts, better cycle time and finish than broaching, and one tool line covering a full range of sizes.
